Please do not criminalize this coffee tree relative.

Please take a close look at the cases used to claim this tree leaf is unsafe. There are always dangerous drugs involved in those cases. Kratom is far less dangerous than alcohol. Even if this tea was unsafe for the user, why would we put that customer in prison over it? Prison is what is actually unsafe!  If the FDA’s concern were for customer safety, why have they ignored concerns about contaminated leaf powder that was brought to their attention?

Instead, we should pass the Kratom Consumer Protection act, that has been passed in 12 states already, to keep Virginians safe from contaminated product and safe from prosecution over an herbal tea!

This leaf has seen hundreds of years of use by normal every day workers who use it like we do coffee, for an energy boost. Do not destroy lives over it, please. Criminalization also prevents valuable research into this useful plant.
