If this effort is allowed and commercial fishing separation water is deemed a source point of pollution, all recreational and commercial fisheries would be impacted. For the menhaden boats specifically, those vessels pump fish and seawater through a hose and through a dewatering screen which allows the fish to go into the boat and water to back into the body of water in came from; the water is returned after only 5-6 seconds.
