I have fished in the Chesapeake Bay for many years, as far north as Smith Point down to Cape Henry. I participate in fishing tournaments and am on the water often. Speaking as a sport fisherman who has spent many years on the water, this petition is ridiculous. These groups that try to shut a 150 year old fishery down better be careful what they wish for. If seawater that the menhaden boats take on when pumping fish onboard and discharged a few seconds later after being separated from the fish is deemed as a pollutant and needs to be regulated, when will they start coming after my hobby because I intentionally put cut bait and chum in the water to catch fish. I do not support this petition and feel it is just another attempt to reach for any reason to further regulate an already extremely regulated fishery without a valid reason.
