Action | Promulgation of regulations for Texas Hold’em poker tournaments by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services |
Stage | Proposed |
Comment Period | Ended on 5/10/2023 |
Charitable gaming has been essential for supporting the financial and social vibrancy of the Richmond Jewish community. The funds that will be given from charitable poker--like the funds raised from bingo--go directly to social, religious, educational, and cultural programming that benefits our synagogues, school, and our broader Richmond community.
Please accept the suggested changes to the proposed regulations to expand the opportunity for organizations conducting gaming for charity to benefit civic institutions in Virginia in tangible, immediate ways.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Elisha Paul,
Head of School
RTA, Richmond Hebrew Day School
Rabbi Dovid Asher,
