We are a very small lodge in Virginia in a rural area.  The use of proceeds of our electronic pull tabs is very detrimental to our existence.  We rely on this extra monies to give to our charities of mooseheart and moosehaven within the Moose and we also rely on this extra monies for our donations to community endeavors.  Because we are small and with the rising economy it is going to be even more crucial to our future existence. 

We use our proceeds to help with our donations, our rent, utilities, security, and trash pickup.  Since we are a fraternal organization, we barely end the year with any profit at all.  I believe that the new law is going to put us out of business quickly.  The requirements that you are placing on us is in this new law is only leaving us with 10% to use for these proceeds.  I would ask that you consider !0% from the fraternal organization and 10% from the vendor and utilize the same formula used for the Bingo UOP.  

We use our Property for school functions, meetings of the local American Legion Post riders, kids recreational functions and community services to the County at no charge.  We partner with the local schools, fire and rescue, sheriff's department and Habitat for Humanity.  Our members live locally and surrounding areas and participate with these organizations when they are fundraising.  We have tried holding Bingo on two different times and had to close it because our community is just not into bingo.  So we cannot generate funds in this way. The cost of keeping up with insurances and maintenance just keep rising.  

With your new laws and regulating fees, we will be lucky if we have 5% left to help defray all of the costs of doing business in Virginia.  We pay our share of sales taxes just like the other businesses in Virginia who by the way are not being regulated on their electronic machines at all. 

Please reconsider what you are asking of us to pay so that we can continue with our contributions and service to children, seniors and community.
