A sloppy signature or handwriting is too subjective and should not be the basis of denying important voting privileges. Perfectly legal signatures can be very unique and "sloppy". The major point is that every effort should be made to encourage and not discourage citizens from voting no matter what party is in power that must be the goal.
Also this type of vague rule invites voting result challenges - costing taxpayers money.
