I would urge the Virginia Department of Social Services to not adopt the new language for the Virginia Register of Regulations regarding basis of discrimination in adoption.This new language would require private church-run adoption agencies to allow same-sex couples to adopt children in spite of their personal convictions. The state should not regulate the practices of private adoption agencies which seek to put children in loving families. This proposed regulation unfairly targets private adoption agencies which should not be required to place children with same-sex couples.
