Do not impose "Politically Correct" Adoption Limitations on Religiously-Based Charities

I strongly opposed the proposed VA Dept. of Social Services Guidelines which threaten to impose restrictions on adoptions that many religious groups would find intolerable.  Insisting that adoption agencies not take into account such things as sexual orientation and type of family arrangements will force Catholic Charities to abandon their adoption services to Catholic families, which would be manifestly unjust.

The state of Virginia should be doing everything in its power to promote adoption and encourage intact, traditional families to open their hearts and homes to children whose biological parents cannot (or will not) take care of them.  Closing the door to Catholic agencies to please homosexual activists will victimize children and keep more of them dependent--for longer periods of time--upon the State.

Please put a stop to this now!

Dr. Robin Maas
