No banning LGBTQ+ books please

I think it's fine to notify parents of any literature with explicit content but I disagree with the part of the policy that would prevent access to LGBTQ+ books and literature that may help marginalized students who need to know they are not alone. I strongly oppose this policy as it leaves in place the § 2.2-2827 definition of "sexual content" which includes homosexuality alongside sadomasochism and bestiality among others. It also expands content to include all books within a school library. Age-appropriate LGBTQ+ books contain artful stories and can help queer children and their allies find context, purpose, compassion, and humanity.
