Commenter: Parent of three kids

This policy is homophobic

This is an open attempt to remove books that feature or even mention LGBTQ+ people or relationships from library shelves.  As a parent to three LCPS students, I oppose this policy because it is not necessary and is homophobic.  LGBTQ+ people exist and their inclusion in material written for children does not make age-appropriate material sexually explicit.  Books are supposed to expand our minds.  Being exposed to age-appropriate material does not make a child gay just as eating Asian food does not make me Asian.
