Guidance Document Change: The guidance document "Model Policies Concerning Instructional Materials with Sexually Explicit Content" was developed in conjunction with stakeholders in order to comply with SB656 (2022).

I am opposed to this.  The term sexually explicit is not clearly defined, and as a result school staff (particularly librarians), will be put under pressure to try and determine this.  It will also potentially lead to the removal of material on important issues such as LGBTQ, trauma, and healing.  I am curious if all of these parents wanting the restriction of printed material in schools have children with cell phones/ tablets, etc.  If your child has access to any sort of internet device, they already have access to material that the parent may not support.
