I previously went to school in Fairfax county, but have since graduated and now go to JMU in Harrisonburg. I am strongly against labeling queer education as “explicit.” There is no reason to censor someone’s identity and thousands of lifetimes of history and community because some folks are uncomfortable with embracing the complexity of humanity. Censoring stuff like this teaches queer kids that they have to hide, that they’re unnatural, and that they must live in fear, and it is unacceptable. I will not stand for this.
