Yes I trust my teachers and librarians. Yes we already have procedures in place in the public schools. However, as everyone must be aware, when policy is not specifically addressed there are people that will actively work to present children with items not meant for the school setting. We don't need sexually explicit materials of any kind being taught in our schools. This does not move education forward. This is not about censorship or excluding anyone. It is about ensuring appropriate materials in schools and preserving parental choice in their child's education. The hot topic/ approach is to attack everything on the basis that it must be discriminatory in some way against some marginalized group. What a great trap, because there can be no discussion; because instantly any discussion, or reaction short of an endorsement celebration is immediately blasted as racist, or bigoted, or phobic. What a great way to shut up reason, logic, and critical thinking. Please don't fear; "access to the valuable  LGBT experience" will not be lost by giving parents a choice about what their child is exposed through curriculum. The "experience" is already forced into every show, commercial, and piece of media possible. Rest assured nothing will be missed out upon. And if these values are important to a family, parents will still be allowed to have their child access the information.
