I strongly oppose this bill because I think once students are in middle and high school, they need to be able to read many kinds of materials. Growing up means making choices and gathering information, even about very sensitive issues such as sexuality. Many parents think they should prevent their children from learning anything that runs counter to their own beliefs. Learning about how others live is fundamentally essential to becoming an educated person. This bill essentially gives parents power to tell teachers what to offer their students- a kind of banning, which is not fair to students OR teachers.
