I am writing to support the model policies. If anything, they do not go far enough. I worry that the requirements of the model policies will be satisfied if a teacher simply puts a disclaimer in the syllabus, or writes book titles on a white board for parents on Back to School night. 

Model policies should require teachers to list the specific book and the specific explicit material with page citations so that parents can review and make informed choices.
