Not only is this bill NOT protective, it will most likely serve as the gateway to discriminatory practices toward LGBTQ+ students and staff. Public education is not a matter of coparenting - public education has nothing to do with parents, PRIVATE school does. Bills such as this one DIRECTLY take away from teacher autonomy. Chesterfield County already places far too much importance on parents. “Sexual” content is already HIGHLY regulated in Virginia schools, there is no need for further regulation for the main sake of the parents.
