Regulations Governing the Practice of Physical Therapy pertaining to COVID vaccination for and maski

APTA VA does not have an official position on mask usage or vaccination and regularly defer to the CDC and VA DHP guidelines.   We represent clinicians in a wide variety of settings and there is no one size fits all recommendation.  We similarly do not take an official position for individual specialties or practice settings.  The CDC and DHP guidelines are constantly changing which can present a challenge, and each county and region may enforce different mandates base on the professional setting.  There is a large gray area open for interpretation and a good deal of variability from one facility to another.  We recognize that there is a great deal of public controversy on masking, vaccinations, and social distancing mandates/guidelines, and that this can be frustrating for patients, clinicians, and practice managers alike.   APTA Virginia will continue to direct our members to the optimal resources to answer any questions and concerns they may have.
