It should go without saying that tax-supported public schools should refrain from discriminating against students on the basis of race, and from imposing politicized curriculum which (in traditional Communist, Nazi, and Fascist style) indoctrinates students in the ideology of the ruling party instead of teaching them to think for themselves. History and social science instruction should be objective, rigorous and fact-based, from a curriculum designed by credentialed historians and social scientists (not race-baiting partisan political operatives). It should encourage a balanced, comprehensive and accurate understanding of historical and social events and processes as they actually happened and are happening, foster a mutual understanding and acceptance among students of all races, colors, cultures and faiths rather than deliberately trying to incite them to hate and fear each other, and educate students for thoughtful participation in democratic political life and reasoned, civil political discourse.
