Guidance Document Change: In 2021, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 1904 and Senate Bill 1196, and was signed into law by Governor Northam. The law establishes new requirements to support culturally competent educators in the Commonwealth. The Guidance on Cultural Competency Training for Teachers and Other Licensed School Board Employees in Virginia Public Schools was developed for the Board to fulfill the statutory mandate to provide guidance on the minimum standards for the local training requirement.

STOP THIS - FOCUS ON CORE SUBJECTS - OUR KIDS NEED A REAL EDUCATION

PLEASE stop focusing all your time and energy on this absolute CRAP.  The amount of time it took you to create this guidance document could have been spent on making sure our kids are receiving the best education possible.  Teachers are already short staffed - do not make it harder for them by requiring this certification - they need to focus on teaching core subjects not being worried they have done something in violation of an equity policy.  PLEASE, it is not your role to force such a policy in school on teachers or students - THIS IS CRT no matter what you call it - NO TO CRT.
