Now that millions of people have taken the vaccine, we can see from studies on the larger numbers of people that there is indeed a very small chance of incurring a stroke or other serious blood clotting from any of the vaccines. I think this is enough evidence to hold back on a medical mandate, if only because of the liability concerns if one of the students or faculty contracts one of these dangerous conditions or something else that has not yet been proven by a study. If we were dealing with Ebola or the Black Plague, the situation would be different. In this case, people can and should be able to make a rational decision not to take this medicine for themselves.
