Regulations for the Immunization of School Children [12 VAC 5 ? 110]

Let me preface this comment by stating that I believe that the COVID vaccine has a place in this pandemic (i.e. high risk individuals-whether it be based on their occupation, health status, etc). I also believe that ALL individuals have the right to decide for themselves and for their families, as they see fit.

I am absolutely against mandated Covid-19 vaccine for children/minors (pre-pubescent) for several reasons:

1)The long-term side effects of the mRNA vaccine on pre-pubescent are still unknown.

2) Children, including very young children, who contracted COVID-19 have minimal to no symptoms. The risk of COVID causing severe illness and hospitalization is significantly  lower compared to adults. Therefore, why the rush to subject our children, who are the future of our society to the unknowns of this vaccine?!?

-Yes, I am fully aware of a potentially severe and dangerous complication that can occur in children (i.e.multisystem inflammatory syndrome-MIS-C), but those cases can be, at best, considered-outliers...NOT the norm! In addition, many other conditions can cause symptoms similar to those of MIS-C.

3) You want to talk about Science? Well then, let us discuss a branch of Biology, namely- Immunology. How about those children/individuals, who already had COVID? Any consideration on the role of natural immunity this population acquired as a result of having the disease itself?!?

These are the top 3 reasons why I am NOT supporting mandated COVID vaccines for children!
