The premise of the petitioner is false. That by forcing vaccination on students and school employees that it will keep her children “safe”. That is a false premise. EVERYONE will eventually get Covid. It is endemic. The vaccines wane in effectiveness over a fairly short period time so much so that some countries consider vaccinations older than 6 months as “expired”. And the FDA has already turned down requests for mass booster shots because the potential health risks to vaccinated and otherwise healthy people didn’t outweigh the benefits of a brief period of enhanced Covid immunity. The petitioner is poorly informed if she believes that this virus will just one day “go away” if enough people get vaccinated. The prevalence of breakthrough cases is too high so there will be a constant threat of this virus for a long time. Perhaps forever. The good news is that oral antivirals are being developed that allow people to recover from an infection much quicker in an outpatient setting and in time these antivirals will become more affordable.
So extreme measures such as those requested by the petitioner are not only not warranted, but they would be ineffective at stopping the virus and removing risk of infection.
