Just yesterday, on June 18, the Democratic-led Harrisonburg City Council, located in the Central Shenandoah Valley with approximately 10,000 poultry workers, voted unanimously to urge the passage of these mandatory and enforceable standards to protect workers. The resolution was introduced by Vice Mayor Sal T. Romero, who stated that for area poultry workers, the passage of these standards was "critical."
