Occupational Safety and Health

As we have seen in communities across the Commonwealth and the country, we cannot expect the individual to show support for others by engaging in a simple task in wearing a face covering while in an enclosed area.  This threatens others, both customers and staff, when one enters a place of business with a risk of infection, causing community spread and endangering the lives of persons with compromised immune systems, the elderly, and causing potential bodily damage to respiratory systems of healthy persons.  While places of business could themselves deny service to patrons who fail to wear a mask covering, this unfortunately cannot be relied upon for a number of reasons.  Thus, I believe it is only in the public's best interest for staff while working to be responsible for wearing face coverings to protect themselves, other employees, and customers.  I support this temporary measure to mandate face coverings while on the job.
