Masks should NOT be required. They are detrimental to the health of those who wear them especially to those who are doing physical work or having to move around frequently such as construction, retail, and restaurants.   The person wearing the mask gets  hot and sweaty breathing in their own air.   This is  not healthy - workers need to be breathing clean fresh air.  Wearing a mask cuts down on communication and the ability of the person wearing a mask to warn others, both of which are dangerous.  Wearing masks damages the mental well being or workers which contributes to anger and bad feelings on the jobsite.   Wearing a maks while serving the public is discriminatory to the deaf and hard of hearing as they can't read lips.
