I feel very grateful for having this type of resources available for low income families. My son has received a better education because of the subsidy. However, now, that I have the opportunity to share some challenges I faced and tide my hands were the fact that after a certain amount of abscences, even if they are because of medical reasons, they are not paid. Also, the fact that it they are making guidelines to require to have a child support case open to have this resource available is unfair in my opinion because in my case, I am a single mother of a boy and his dad who lives out of the country and has no job cannot help economicly, which means I wouldn't have the opportunity to afford a decent childcare program for my son. Lastly, I think it would be great to have a window open for parents to find a job. I am aware that you lose inmediately the subsidy if you don't have a job. However, I think parents already have stress to find a job. Losing childcare would just make everything complicated to find a job. A 10 or 15 days window, I think, would be helpful to all families.
I hope you can take the best decisions and that my opinion can be counted.
