I strongly Oppose

I graduated from Liberty University, a Non-CACREP college. Our college changed to a research university, which allowed for me to receive more in-depth studies. I received an outstanding education and valuable experiences throughout my research and internship. What I appreciated the most was the opportunity to do a straight internship (no practicum required which is a CACREP requirement).

I currently work with students through the NVLPC organization in Virginia. Many students are finding it difficult to have a practicum site and then an internship site. This is causing additional stress and frustrations as students try to deal with the difficulty of doing a practicum before the internship.

Please oppose this and help to continue to make the process of becoming a counselor easier, not more difficult, in the state of Virginia.

Thank you,

Katrina Clayton, MA
