Current attempts to institute hospital-like restrictions on outpatient women's health clinics are a transparent effort to push political ideology, rather than good health care. There is no scientific evidence to support these burdensome regulations, and the fact remains that outpatient abortions are remarkably safe in the current environments where they are performed. In addition, the women's health clinics that would be affected provide a wide range of critical preventive health services for women. Let's go forward with solid evidence-based recommendations, not those that simply advance the agenda of a vocal group of ideologues.
