Voter ID

I strongly endorse having a valid drivers license or statement of residence from a local jurisdiction to vote.  It encourages  those who want to abuse the vote by voting in different jurisdictions, or who are in the US illegally trying to vote when they do not have to present valid ID.

How does showning a valid ID suppress the vote?  It doesn't.  I have to show ID, usually a drivers license, to make a simple withdrawl from a bank where I have accounts.  I have to show ID simply to pick up tickets for a sporting event that I have reserved on-line.  In renting a piece of equipment for lawn maintenance use I have to show a driver's license.

It is simply good and hones government to require a valid ID!
