TRAP

This legislation has much less to do with women's health than it has to do with legislators' imposing their personal religious philosophy on those who do not share that philosophy.  If this law actually pertained to medical safety, every single doctor's office and ambulatory surgery would have to reconstruct their buildings to meet these requirements.  There would be no grandfathering of any facility.  Every medical center would have to open patient records to inspectors' removal, in likely violation of HIPAA.  This law is meant to stop Virginia women from having abortions without the trouble or expense of going before the Supreme Court to defend the law.  (Looks like North Dakota's going to take care of that.)  Abortions are legal in this country, and that is not likely to change.  Those who don't want them shouldn't have them.  Imposition of the prevailing political party's religious beliefs - no matter how thinly-veiled as something else entirely - should not be tolerated in a free society.
