Abortion centers must be held accountable for ensuring the health and safety of Virginia women.  The proposed regulations are common- sense measures intended to save lives by providing necessary life-saving equipment, sterile surgical environment and access for emergency medical teams should a life-threatening situation arise, adequate trained staff, etc.  Basically, the same measures in place at other ambulatory health care facilities.  And, to demonstrate the urgent need for these regulations, Health inspectors have already found numerous critical violations, proving that the abortion industry cannot be trusted to self-regulate.
