Oppositoin to the TRAP

Dear Board of Health members - I am writing to express my strong opposition to the regulations being forced upon women's health centers.  This is an outrage.  Your function is to protect public health, but TRAP will remove access to health care for women by resulting in the closure of health centers because of the unnecessary regulations.  How is this protecting public health?  How many women will have their health threatened because they cannot access the care they need?  It is not right for individuals who oppose practices that are -completely legal- to impose their agenda on other law abiding residents of the Commonwealth.  The TRAP results in unnecessary requirements that are an obvious back door to removing the choice that women are currently entitled to under the law by causing clinics to close because the burden is absurdly high and makes a mockery of the system.  TRAP will undoubtedly harm the very women you are charged with protecting by making it even more difficult for them to access reproductive health care and safe, legal first-trimester abortion care in Virginia.  Please protect the health of all Virginians, not just those who share a certain political agenda, and get rid of TRAP.  You work for all Virginians, not just those who have a conservative political agenda.  Public health is best served when all residents can receive safe and effective medical care near where they live without interference of those who seek to take away options for people who need them.  Thank you.
