Protect Our Mothers & Babies
I cannot imagine anyone not wanting to protect our mothers and their babies. We demand regulations on all health-care facilities, and in fact for schools, senior centers, restaurants, etc., so there is no logical reason to exempt abortion facilities. These women are in difficult situations to begin with and vulnerable or they wouldn't be coming to a place like this. They need to be shown respect and cared for in a safe and clean environment.
Health inspectors documented multiple health and safety violations in these facilities, and most of the facilities had to submit plans of correction in order to receive provisional licensure. Clearly, the abortion industry cannot be relied upon to self-regulate and promote standards of cleanliness and safety in their facilities.
I strongly support the current regulations on abortion centers approved overwhelmingly by the Board of Health. These regulations should be made permanent and continue to include the strongest standards.
I refuse to accept the premise that abortion is health care because it ends lives rather than healing them. However, the existence of the abortion industry under the guise of “health care” is a sad and tragic reality in our Commonwealth and our country. The current regulations are reasonable, common-sense measures to ensure that life-saving equipment is on hand, infections are prevented, and clear written policies and building guidelines are in place.
Please maintain strong permanent abortion facility regulations to protect the health and safety of women.
