Action | Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities |

While there are those who would, for their own purposes, turn discussion of this legislation into a debate about abortion, it is not.
The legislation in question recognizes the essential need to assure that women's health care be provided in the safest possible envornment. The Commonweath of Virginia has a responsibility to assure that no institution be allowed to put expediency over safety, or circumvent safety protocols simply by choosing a name like "heath center.". The level of cleanliness and safety must be proportionate to procedures performed in the facility. Making the tempoarary regulations already in place permanent is the least we can do to protect the lives of the women and children involved.
