Action | Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities |

While I refuse to accept that abortion is "health care" because it ends life instead of saving it; the abortion industry exists as part of the "health care system." Therefore, facilities that perform abortions should be regulated like hospitals and other health care facilities. The list of health violations that state inspectors documented are astounding. Places that purport to provide essential womens' health care are not places of health at all. Since these clinics operate they must adhere to a defined set of health and safety regulations and be open for regular inspection.
These regulations are common sense. They require that life-saving equipment be on hand, infections are prevented, and that EMS personnel are able to get through the building appropriately to reach women in a life-threatening situation. Inspections have uncovered unsanitary conditions including blood-splattered instruments, multiple handwashing violations, and blood-stained refrigerators. Please protect womens' health in the Commonwealth and keep these essential regulations.
