No woman WANTS to terminate a pregnancy. That it should be HER choice in the event of rape is, to my mind, unquestionable. But it should also be her choice if she knows the child will have severe disabilities or if she cannot support that child in the years to come, either financially or emotionally.
If the state is demanding non-medical requirements and intruding into the relationship between a woman and her medical provider, the state should naturally assume any expenses they are imposing as well as the support of any child until the age of 18.
Our legislature should be attending to the business of the commonwealth's economy and roads, not meddling in medical issues.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Pribus
