DMAS Form 241a- Competencies Checklist

1.Is it possible to make these documents available electronically, perhaps by integrating them into an organization's training platforms such as Relias? Doing so would give the HR department convenient access for annual reviews and audit purposes, streamlining our processes and ensuring consistent documentation.

2. By streamlining the information in the latest version and omitting many of the original descriptors, important context has been lost. To address this, it would be highly beneficial to include an appendix that offers comprehensive, detailed descriptions for each level of competency. This addition would clarify expectations and provide valuable guidance for staff and evaluators as they navigate the revised checklist.

3. Please retain the original format for the annual evaluation, as the updated version introduces unnecessary redundancy and repetition.

4. The "Start Date (hire date)" should appear exclusively on the initial page alongside the employee's name, rather than being repeated for every competency section throughout the document.

5. The following statement should be noted with Section 3: Two confirmations are required for the Competency 3 section. All DSPs and DSP Supervisors must be confirmed as “competent” in all of the skills in Competency Area 3 prior to working in the absence of staff who have been determined proficient in this area. Competence is established when all observation indicators in column two have been observed. Proficiency must be confirmed within 180 days of hire or the original contract date for contracted staff
