I urge the Board of Health to deny this baseless, discriminatory petition. They claim to want to "protect" women, but trans girls and women are much more likely to be the victims of gendered violence than the perpetrators--especially if they're forced into male spaces.

 

Already, there are national news stories about cis women who have been challenged, arrested, or thrown out of women's bathrooms based on the suspicion of being trans. I'm a tall woman who wears hoodies and jeans; I don't want to be forced to expose myself to strangers to satisfy the paranoid fantasies of a small group of transphobes.
