I fully support the draft regulations as presented, allowing optometrists in Virginia to perform laser procedures. As an optometrist in Louisiana, where these procedures have been safely performed since 2014, I can attest to the benefits for our patients.

Virginia has nearly twice as many optometrists as ophthalmologists, and by allowing optometrists to perform in-office laser procedures, the state can significantly improve access to quality care. With more than 146,000 procedures performed nationwide, I urge you to support these regulations as written to expand care in Virginia.
