It is fundamentally inappropriate to politicize women's access to affordable health care. Women deserve health care that is easily available and free of unnecessary requirements - just like the health care than men receive.
The proposed TRAP regulations will increase the financial burden to health care for patients, and yet provide no proven medical benefits. This disproportionately affects young, low-income, and minority women who may already be struggling to have basic needs met.
In short, if we all agree that over-regulation is inefficient, then it is contrary to principle to over-regulate particular aspects of the health care industry, based solely on the personal views of politicians, and not on evidence-based medical requirements for women's health. The only reason these regulations are being considered is to politicize women's access to health care.
