Places where abortions are performed should be regulated in the same manner as any other facility that performs surgeries.

• Life saving resuscitation equipment should be available
• Infection control measures must be in place
• Physician and employee licensure should be up to date
• Controlled substances must be used in a legal manner
• Physicians must have admission priveleges at a hospital in case of an adverse event
• Facilities should be subject to routine inspections.

Abortion is not a life saving procedure, but an elective surgery for convenience in most circumstances.
