Hello,

I have been taking Kratom for about 6 yrs., I am a 54 yr old, professional. I have not increased the small amount that I take in 6 yrs.  I have a bilaterally fractured vertebrae. I was in a pain management program for over 10 years when suddenly my very own Doctor stopped practicing because he became hooked on much stronger opioids than what I was taking. So my next step could have been to Dr shop but with the black eye on opioids I felt that I would be ridiculed wherever I went. I don’t want to be ridiculed, I just want to live life. I live in pain 24hrs a day. I work 9-10 hrs a day. No matter what is happening I still choose to fight back on that pain, go to work and be a tax paying productive member of society. 

After my Doctor stopped practicing I researched Kratom. I weened myself off of the pain medicine I was taking & began taking Kratom. I take it in small quantities. Taking Kratom along with exercising as much as I can tolerate and taking over the counter NSAID medicines has gotten me through over 6 years without opioids. Kratom doesn’t create highs for me, it relaxes my body just a bit and that little bit helps gets me through the day. I am not sure how I will get through a ban.

Here is the problem, I abide by the law. If I am not allowed to purchase Kratom by law, I won’t, I will needlessly suffer.  The only people who will still use Kratom are the ones who don’t abide by the law. 

So in the end the only citizens that a potential  ban is hurting are law abiding citizens such as myself. Thank you for taking the time to hear my truth.
