These regulations have nothing to do with the safety of women. They have to do with views on abortion, which is not a subject for government in the first place. They have to do with making it impossible for most of the women's clinics in the Commonwealth of Virginia to comply, thereby forcing them to close. Where is the evidence that women's clinics in Virginia are unsafe? Why not close down just the facilities that injure women at as high a rate as our hospitals and outpatient surgical centers injure people. I suspect that, under that kind of fair regulation, no women's clinic would have to close. Wider hallways do not make clinics safer, but requiring wider hallways surely does make it impossible for many of our women's clinics to comply. Very clever, but you're not fooling anybody.
