Object to unnecessary regulations

These regulations have absolutely nothing to do with the promotion or assurance of the safety of patients and everything to do with denying women safe, harrassment free, affordable access to a very personal, private medical procedure.  The same goes for the newly passed legislation requiring an unnecessary and expensive ultrasound prior to an abortion.  This is unacceptable and intolerable government intrusion into women's personal, private medical decisions.  The clear intention is to make the facility enhancements and the procedure itself prohibitively expensive for everyone involved (except the government that's making these requirements).  The clear intention is to make abortions inaccessible to women in Virginia.  At the very least, existing facilities should be "grandfathered" and not required to comply with these unnecessary regulations.

These regulations and laws are brought to us in Virginia by the same organizations and legislators who fought for and won denial of gay people in Virginia the right to marry who they wish, as well as many other anti-gay discriminatory practices.  These organizations are not at all interested in the best interests of the citizens of Virginia but in forcing their own religious beliefs onto the most personal decisions of others and into government itself.  This is completely unacceptable.
