I am in my 70's and remember the days of back alley abortions. Roe v Wade lifted a heavy burden for women in need of abortion. It provided safe and affordable health care. Over the years I have seen abortion rights wittled away by legislators, mostly men, who have little or no experience with women in need of overall health care. The needs of women are not only those pertaining to abortion, but are also those of quality health care, including preventive reproductive health care, cancer screenings, and sexually transmtted diseases. Regulations should be based on medicine and science and should not limit women's access to essential health care.
The width of a hallway or some other inappropriate regulation does not affect the care received by women in many licensed facilities. Regulations should be based on medicine and science and should not limit access to essential health care.
