RGGI supports Virginians' health and safety

The existence of climate change and the effect of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions are beyond a reasonable doubt.  The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative helps states monitor their emissions, and in doing so, identify ways of reducing our emissions and thus, our impact on the environment.  In addition, RGGI allocates funds to mitigate the effects of climate change, such as extreme temperatures, flooding, and drought, by improving public infrastructure and retrofitting Virginians' homes with better insulation and energy systems.  These projects provide stable work, steady income, and safer communities throughout Virginia, all while decreasing energy costs.  If that isn't enough, the reduction in pollution also improves public health, decreasing occurrence of asthma attacks and premature births, among other conditions.

Please consider the health, finances, jobs, and environment of Virginia, and keep us in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
