I would really hate to see Virginia withdraw from the RGGI. First of all, it's a law and shouldn't be so quickly dismissed by an incoming Governor. Participation in RGGI has saved other states billions of dollars in public health, which translates to a better life for their citizens and a healthier economy for the state. Withdrawal does not make sense from an economic or humanitarian viewpoint.
If we are to begin to achieve any of the goals set forth in the Paris Climate Agreement, then we need to continue our participation in the RGGI. By withdrawing, Youngkin shows his complete lack of awareness in our climate crisis. Let's make Virginia a model of progress toward a more sustainable future for everyone!
