Perhaps in 40 years the green tech will be cost effective enough to warrant such a dramatic change.  Large increase in fees will be passes along to the consumer and allthat will be accomplished is making the greener wealthy taking tax dollars and allow even more control of personal energy use being tracked and potentially limited by the govt.

But wind and solar and EVs are NO WHERE near the point of being both effective and affordable.
