In the absence of any significant voter fraud statistics for Virginia or any other State/Commonwealth in America, most if not all additional restrictions (whether cutting short absentee voting time-frames, adding additional identification records over those already in place and working, the addition of "penmanship" restraints over absentee voting, or any of the myriad other ways voter suppression efforts have begun to appear in States across the country) demonstrate efforts only to prevent or otherwise restrict legitimate citizen access to the voting booth. A more appropriate use of Commonwealth time and assets would be for officials to search for ways to ease and expand such voter access for any and all elections.
