While laudable, efforts to reduce carbon emissions in Virginia are fruitless. China and India's coal-fired power projects will certainly negate any efforts we take to mandate or incentivize unreliable energy sources such as windmills and solar panels. We need to pursue policies that will ensure we have a robust power grid to support future demand. The Commonwealth needs to rescind the Califorinia-like policies that discriminate against internal combustion engines. At a minimum, we should restore State Corporation Commission oversight of Dominion Power and stay out of the Regional Greenhouse & Gas Initiative.
